Peter Moxham
Peter joined CHETRE as an intern during the second year of his Master of Public Health studies. Building on a career of almost twenty years in the pharmaceutical industry in sales and management, Peter has decided to transition his career focus towards the prevention of illness, with an interest in upstream and structural factors that determine health. Outside of work and study, Peter is a keen bushwalker and has a fascination for nature and human connection to nature. Peter has been working with Western Sydney Primary Health Network since May 2024, in a role that highlights the many barriers and opportunities for improving population health across the city.
Review/reflections on your experience as an Intern with CHETRE?
I feel fortunate to have spent some time working with the very friendly and supportive team at CHETRE. My project was a scoping review looking at evidence-based approaches to placemaking, infrastructure and service delivery to improve health and social equity. This review will support subsequent work being done by Western Sydney Community Forum and potential community-oriented interventions in Western Sydney. I learnt a lot about the technical process and methodology of preparing a large scoping review, and got to see how the team at CHETRE collaborate and work together. Thank you CHETRE for this wonderful opportunity.
