2024 ZEST Award: Outstanding Community Partnership-Fairfield City Health Alliance Gambling Working Group

At the 2024 ZEST Awards, the Fairfield City Health Alliance Gambling Working Group was declared the winner in the category of Outstanding Community Partnership Award. This group, formed in 2019, comprises 16 organisations in partnership, contributing their skills, knowledge, and time to combat gambling harm in the Fairfield local government area. It has demonstrated extraordinary social impact, delivering community health outcomes through collaboration across the health and social care sectors. Its focus helps to inform our understanding of the scope and depth of harm from gambling, and it is actively addressing this through community awareness-raising activities, projects, GambleAware Week, and research. CHETRE has been an active member of this group since 2019. David Saliba MP acknowledged the work of the Fairfield City Health Alliance Gambling Working Group through a community recognition statement delivered in parliament on 18/6/24.
